BIOGRAPHY: Notes on the Family of Johannes Chronister 1708-1782 by Gary Chronister, 1983, p 36;
JOHN CHRONISTER the seventh son of Johannes and Catherine (Oberholtzer) Chronister was born in the year 1817 in Reading Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania. John lived on the home farm in Reading Township until his father's death in 1841 when he inherited one-third of the plantation along with his brothers Benjamin and Jesse. In or about 1842 he was married to CATHERINE who was born in 1814. They were the parents of [8 children listed].
In the early 1850's John and his family moved from Reading Township to the small village of Franklin Grove in Lee County, Illinois where he spent the remainder of his life. Catherine died sometime during the 1870's while John was living with his son John Allen in 1880 where he died sometime between then and 1890.

GEORGE CHRONISTER the eighth son of Johannes and Catherine (Oberholtzer) Chronister was born on January 9, 1821 in Reading Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania. George spent his life as a farmer living on part of his father's plantation in Reading Township. In or about 1853 he was married to CAROLINE who was born on December 16, 1828. They were the parents of [4 children listed].
George died on February 7, 1899 at the age of 78 and Caroline on March 8, 1923 at the age of 94. They are both buried in the Hampton Lutheran Cemetary at Hampton, Pa.
