JOHN FULLER (1578-1608) (Robert, John)
"John Fuller was baptized March 15, 1578-9 in the parish of Redenhall, co. Norfolk, England. On April 19, 1599 he marries Margaret Balls at Starston, a parish adjoining Redenhall. The marriage record calls him a widower which means he was a widower at 20 years of age. By his will he was yeoman and the vital records of Redenhall show that he had a son Matthew (for many years Matthew was conceded to be a Mayflower Descendant as the supposed son of Edward, as well as the discovery of the Pettinggall deposition of August 14, 1673 have operated to dispossess Matthew from the Mayflower company; prior to these discoveries descendants of Matthew were admitted to the Mayflower society, but none since).
"The abstract of John Fuller's December 16, 1608 will is taken from Register Spencer, fol. 222 at the Episcopal Consistorial Court of Norwich:
John Fuller, the elder, of Redenhall, yeoman gives "To Margaret my wife, an inclose called Hollane's in Redenhall (copy-hold of the Manor of Redenhall Hall), for life and then to my son John Fuller. All other copy hold lands to said wife to help in bringing up children I now have or may have by her, until my son Thomas is 21 and then sold, except the inclose of Hollanes, by my wife and the money divided among my children. William Fuller, my eldest son, to have the offer of time." Mr. Thomas Cotton of London to be supervisor. Witness: Thomas Fuller, Thos. Evered, William Reed.
"December 22, 1608 John Fuller is buried, havikng died six years prior to his father. January 2, 1609 John Fuller's will is proved.

REV. JOHN LATHROP (1584-1653) (Thomas, Robert, John)
"The Rev. John Lathrop, son of Thomas Lathrop and Mary Salte, was born at Etton, Yorkshire, England and was baptized there December 20, 1584. John was matriculated at Queen's College, Cambride (where he "acquired the usual dissenting spirit") in 1601 (he spelled his name Lothropp) and was graduated in 1605 with a B.A. and took his masters degree in 1609. He became a curate of a parish church in Edgerton in the lower half hundred of Calehill, Lathe of Screy, co. Kent. He was there as early as 1614 and probably 1611, the year of his marriage to Harriet Howse, daughter of the Rev. JohnHowse and his wife, Alice. He was a curate as late as 1619. In 1623 he renounced his orders and allied himself with the Puritans. In 1624 he succeeded Rev. H. Jacobs, an independent minister of the first Independent Church of London, who had resigned to go to Virginia (worship in this church was illegal and the meetings were secret). The church was discovered by a spy and on April 22, 1632 during hours of worship forty-two, including the Rev. John Lathrop, were made prisoners. He was tried by the Star Chamber and imprisoned for two years in the Newgate prison. During his imprisonment his first wife died; when she was at death's door, John was granted permission to make a brief visit with her. In 1634 he was released and sentenced to banishment; he and his daughter, Jane, arrived in Boston about September 18, 1634 in the Griffin. Losing no time, John with his small band of faithful from the voyage, proceded to Scituate where he held his first service, September 28, 1634. Nine families mostly from London and Kent had built there homes there and awaited his arrival.
"Soon after, he married his second wife, Anna, called the daughter of William Hammond of Watertown, and a widow. Her death is said to have occurred February 25, 1687/8. On October 11, 1639 (O.S.) the Rev. Mr. Lathrop and a large following arrived at Barnstable, bringing with them their season's crops grown in Scituate. They met for worship at the house of Mr. Hull and on December 11 they held a service of thanksgiving. Mr. Lathrop's first home was on the site of the Eldridge Hotel of 1884, he having a house lot of four acres. In 1644 a larger and more substantial house was built for him. This is the Public Library of today. John Lathrop died November 8, 1653 at Barnstable. He subscribed his name, John Lothrop, in letters written to Governor Prince and others. He left a will givng his "new dwelling house" to his wife and "the house i which I just lived in Barnstable to my oldest son Thomas." To son John in England and Benjamin here, each a cow and five pounds; to each child a book to be chosen according to their ages and to the rest of his children both his and his wife's, not before mentioned, a cow."

SAMUEL FULLER (1637-1691?) (Samuel, Edward, Robert, John)
"Samuel ws born February 1637- 8 at Scituate, Mass. and was baptized there February 11, 1637. He married Anna Fuller, daughter of Dr. and Capt. Matthew Fuller. There is no record of his family on the Barnstable records and little is known of him. He probably lived on a portion of his father's estate. An inventory of his estate was taken at Barnstable December 28, 1691, amounting to 98 pounds, 17 shillings. From this it appears that he had been dead some time and that his widow had recently died, for her estate was settled on the 30th of the same month. The names of his children, given below, are taken from an agreement made at that time, dated December 30, 1691:
"Children, born at Barnstable:
