Celebrated author of "New England Memorial"
source: George Morton of Plymoth Colony and some of his Decendents p.11 Nathaniel Morton, eldest son of George Morton. b latter part of 1613 in Leyden, Holland. Came to New England with his father in June, 1624 on the "Ann". In 1624, upon the death of his father, was adopted by Gov. Wm. Bradford, whose 2nd wife was Mrs. George Morton's sister (her name was Alice 9Carpenter) Southworth-Bradford.
Made a freeman in 1635, same year he married Lydia Cooper. She died Sept 23 - Oct 4, 1673. He then married Ann Pritchard 29 Apr 1674 (daughter of Richard Pritchard.)...

Came to New England with his father in June, 1623/4 on the "Anne". In 1624, upon the death of his father, was adopted by Gov. Wm. p. 1 George Morton - One of the founders of New Plymouth, Mass. Puritan, left England to Holland to USA. Was in Leyden in Dec 15-25, 1612. His wife was Juliana Carpenter, of Bath, England. m 23 Jul - 2 Aug 1612.

Julia Ann was probalby the oldest, born in 1583. She married George Morton of York, England while in Leyden, Holland on 23 July 1612. She died at Plymouth 19 Feb 1664/5. The Morton's came to Plymouth in the ship Anne, July 1623. Their son was the celebrated Nathaniel Morton, the author of "New England Memorial", etc.

1. p. 2 - June 1623, Alice Carpenter landed at Plymouth. She became the wife of Governor William Bradford of Plymouth Colony 14 Aug 1623, the 4th marriage of the colony. She was the daughter of Alexander Carpenter, who, with his wife and their 4 other daughters, were members of the Church of Leyden, Holland, at the time Bradford was there. They both met there (he was currently married to Dorothy May. She was currently married to Edward Southworth to whom she was married 28 May 1613. She came to Plymouth upon Bradford's request after the deaths of their spouses.
Their (the Carpenter's) native place appears to have been at Wrington, Somersetshire, about 8 miles from Bristol.
Julia Ann was probably the oldest, born 1583. She married George Morton of York, England while in Leyden, Holland on 23 July 1612. She died at Plymouth, Feb 19, 1664/1665. The Mortons came to Plymouth in the ship Ann, July, 1623. Their son was the celebrated Nathaniel Morton, the author of "New England Memorial", etc.

lists: William Carpenter, of England, children:
1. James - inherited the estate of his father
2. Alexander, b~1560 was a Dissenter, and on account of religious persecution, moved with his family to Layden, Holland. His only son was probably William of Cobham.
3. William (further info.)
4. Richard, father of William Carpenter, who came to America in 1636, settled in Providence, RI with Roger Williams and is known as the progenitor of the (can't read this very well, looks like "Provxkill Band" ?)
