BIOGRAPHY: Notes on the Family of Johannes Chronister 1708-1782 by Gary Chronister, 1983, p 39;
HEINRICH CHRONISTER the third son of Heinrich and Susanna (Cox) Chronister was born on October 3, 1775 in Reading Township, York County, Pa. Heinrich lived his whole life as a farmer in York (later Adams) county. In or about 1800 he was married to a girl by the name of ELIZABETH and they were the parents of 9 children all born in Latimore Township except for the youngest born in Reading Township. [9 children listed].
From the time of his marriage until about 1812, Heinrich lived on and farmed 192 acres in Latimore Township. At the time of the above date he bought a farm in Reading Township from his father but died in March of 1814 before he was able to pay it off. He was only 38 years of age. The cause of his death is unknown but is was most likely an epidemic since his mother Susanna died only a few weeks later in April of 1814. Heinrich's place of buriel canot not be found but was probably in the Lower Bermudian Lutheran Cemetary in Latimore Township where his parents were buried. The children were adopted and raised by various relative and neighbors. William, Margaret, and Susanna were raised by JACOB MYERS of Straban Township. Isabella, Jesse, and John were raided by their father's cousin PETER DEARDORFF also of Straban Township while Mary Ann, Jacob, and Henry were raised by their neighbor in Latimore Township, CHRISTIAN HEART although it appears that the younger children lived with William and John during the 1830's and 40's. No records of the mother Elizabeth's remarriage or death can be found.
