Swyft, William Swift (b. 15 Apr 1589, d. Jan 1643/1644)
Note: SOURCE:
Ancestors of Susan Runyan on the internet Family Tree Maker; 3/98; http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/r/u/n/Susan-E-Runyan/GENE1-0011.html .

650. William Swift, born April 15, 1589 in probably Bocking, County Suffolk, England; died January 1643/44 in Sandwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts. He was the son of 1300. William Swift and 1301. Janet Elizabeth Wilson. He married 651. Joan
Session June 04, 1628 in England.
651. Joan Session, born Abt. 1576 in Blocking, Essex County, England; died November 26, 1663 in Sandwich, Barnstable,
Massachusetts.

Notes for William Swift:
William Swyft came from England to America probably in the Great Boston immigration of 1630-31. Savage says he probably came from Bocking, County Essex, or vicinity, but all Bocking Parish records were burned about the time of the Restoration. He may have descended from Robert Swyft and his wife Ann, whose tomb is in Rotherham Parish Church in Rotherham. Ann died in 1539 and Robert in 1561. William was a proprietor in Watertown, Mass. in 1634 and had been there for several years. He drew various proprietors lots in Watertown but sold his property in 1637 and moved to Sandwich, where he bought the largest farm in town. In 1642 he served in Lieutenant John Blackmer's Company.
He died before January, 1643 as his inventory was shown at Court there and amounted to 72 pounds 11 shillings. On March 7, 1643 "Letters of Administration are graunted to Joane Swyft of Sandwich to administer upon her husbandes estate and to pay the debts as far as the estate will amount unto, by equal proporcons, and is bound to the Gov. and Assistantes to do it, & Daniell Wing with her." Joan survived her husband 20 years and died in Sandwich, November 26, 1663. Her will is in the Plymouth Colony Records, and Inventory amounted to 105 pounds 6 shillings.

Children of William Swift and Joan Session are:

325
i. Esther Swift, born Abt. 1620 in Bocking, Essex, England; died 1691 in Sandwich, Barnstable, MA; married Ralph Allen 1645 in Sandwich, Barnstable, MA.

ii. Hannah Swift, married Daniel Wing November 05, 1641 in Sandwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts.

iii. William Swift, born Abt. 1627 in England; died Abt.
