Killian MINKLER (1673- )
"Killian Minkler was born about 1673 in Germany. He was married by 1697 in Germany to Anna Margretta (surname unknown), who was also born in Germany. In 1709 or thereabouts a KIllian and Anna Margretta Minkler migrated from their home in the Palatine area and went to Rotterdam, Holland because of the difficulties. In May 1709 they went by ship to England. They lived in huts on the beaches of south England until January 1710, when they were loaded aboard ships and were listed as Palatinate Germans. The ships did not sail until March 1710 and arrived in New York 13, 1710. The ship register in Holland, the Queen's register in London, and the ship's register on embarkation from London show a Killian Minkler, his wife, Anna Margretta, one son and two daughters."

1724, Killian Minkler as head of the family was one of several who were willing to reamin in Germantown (Livingston Manor) and for whom grants of land, improved by them were sought by petition to the Provincial Council (c.f. History of Columbia County, N.Y. by J. Longley, 1878, p. 265).

" Charles was born February 20, 1811 (1809) in Hillsdale, N.Y.; he died April 18, 1896 in Corbettsville, N.Y. He married March 8, 1832 Sabra Cox, daughter of Edward Cox (he settled in Lawsville and died in Choconut). A farmer and a builder, Charles built the first bridge over the Chenango River for the Binghamton Syracuse Railroad. Charles was the favorite grandfather of the Fowler children as he was jolly; he liked to dance and play the Jews Harp. Charles was adept at telling stories to children. At the age of 84 he rode a large sled down a hill with his granddaughter, Clara Fowler. Black-eyed Sabra was born June 29, 1814 and died April 5, 1875 in Corbettsville; she taught the first school in the township in her home".
